Naturally refreshing – a variety of adventures, from the valley to the glacier
Hiking & Biking – lifestyle in the mountains
A hiking tour in the heart of the Tux Alps is just the right thing to help you leave your troubles behind you, and immerse yourself in an extraordinary, harmonious world in which you can restore your health and a sense of well-being. The 350 km of marked hiking trails, 150 km of marked Nordic walking trails and over 70 km of mountain bike routes, from easy to challenging, go to make the sport paradise of Tux-Finkenberg an absolute dream for hikers and mountain enthusiasts, and also for those with yet undiscovered aspirations.
Exercise can be fun and the overwhelming mountain panorama is a wonderful reward for the climb. The cable cars, Wandertaxis (hiking taxis) and the free Wanderbus (hiking bus) facilitate the first stage of the climb and bring the peaks within your reach.
If you need to replenish your body and soul after several hours of hiking, you can stop off at one of the many rustic lodge restaurants, where you will find real Tux hospitality and menus with traditional “Schmankerln” (regional delicacies). And, of course, little “Schnapserl” will go to round off the day wonderfully.
Who hasn’t dreamt of spending a night up in the mountains and closely experiencing real mountain life? Spend a night in the barn, set off on a lama trekking tour, explore the fascinating Spannagelhöhle, the largest natural cave of the Central Alps at 2.531 m above sea level, take a journey of discovery through the botanical world of the Alps – all this and more. The hiking guides of the Zillertal Alps nature reserve can make this childhood dream come true.
The white summer is calling – visit the glacial world of Hintertux
The eternal ice of the Hintertux Glacier invites you to experience an ocean of glittering snow crystals – with a summer ski run on up to 18 km of slopes, jumps, fun & action in the perfectly shaped BetterPark, as well as ice and rock climbing expeditions. Austria’s most beautiful and only year-round ski resort tops the list with wonderful slopes, superlative funiculars and an amazing panorama.
