Hikes round Strass

Maria Brettfall - Rotholz - Strass
Starting at Strass you reach in approx. 20-30 minutes a pilgrimage church Maria Brettfall. There you can have a short rest and some snack at the snack house. Then you go on in the direction of Ellerboden (approx. 5 min.) and follow the downhill route to Rotholz. Walking time estimation: 20-30 min. It takes you another 20 min. to get from Rotholz on a linden road back to Strass.

 

Hikes round Schlitters

Wasserfall of Schlitters
You walk along the brook Oexelbach into the Wildbach gorge/ Wildbachklamm to the waterfall. Walking time estimation: 45 min.

Round Hike Schlitters
You start your hike at the tourist office and walk in the direction of Imming/Bruck. You continue walking northwest to the Landhaus on the public road Bundesstrasse till St. Gertraudi. Here you have to branch off to the right and reach in approx. 1 km walk Reith im Alpbachtal. You go on walking in the direction of the guesthouse Waldschmiede and here branch off to the right. You walk along Kerschbaumer Sattel, past Steinerhof, Saeulingerhof, Poeltenwirt, Imming and reach the starting point. Walking time estimation: 3 hrs. P>

 

Hikes round Fuegen/Hochfuegen

Veil Waterfall Uderns
Walking time estimation: 40 min.
Route U11. The 81 m high beauty of nature locates amidst the forest. It be reached over a bridge Zillerbruecke on a romantic route.

Hike Spieljochbahn - Hochfuegen
Walking time estimation: 5 hrs.
You drive by the cable car Speiljochbahn to the Spieljoch. From there on 200 m beneath the upper lift station runs an almost even walking route past the Alpenrose to the Geolsalm and continues past the Gartalm-Niederleger to the Schellenbergalm. Walking 200 m in the direction of Hochfuegen you continue on the Hochfuegener Strasse. Then you walk in the direction of Pflanzgarten, past the brook Finsingbach, the Kegelalm or along the brook Finsingbach to Hochfuegen. You can of course go by bus to Hochfuegen and hike vice versa on routes nos. 10 and 11.

 

Hikes in the Midzillertal Valley

Waterfall Kaltenbach
Walking time estimation: 1 ¼ hrs.
A starting point is Sparkasse. You walk past the Chapel of St. Mary at the edge of the forest to the tank. A route with some stairs runs to the waterfall. If you continue walking this route, you get to Kaltenbach in approx. 30 min. It is a very beautiful and easy hike with a panoramic view of the waterfall.

Chapel of Riedberg in Ried
Walking time estimation: 1 3/4 hrs.
You walk past the church in the direction of Kaltenbach on the route no. 3. You go across the forest till Taxach (possibilty of crossing in the direction of Kaltenbach). Here follows a steep trail to the chapel. You return through the village district Taxach to Ried.

 

Hikes round Zell am Ziller

Kloepflstaudach Guesthouse "Zur Schoensten Aus­sicht" (Zell­berg)
You start the hike at the tourist office, go over the Ziller Bridge, just between the guesthouse Geisler and Autohaus Huber till the road branch nos. 4 and 5. You follow the road branch no. 5. You hike on the narrow, shadowy, not steep route to the Kloepflstaudach. Here you enjoy a marvellous panorama and go back. Alternatively, you take the route no. 6 to the Chapel of the Sacred Heart / Herz-Jesu-Kapelle and to the guesthouse Schulhaus (walking time estimation: 1 hr.)

Round Hike Rosenalm – Karspitz (2.135 m) - Kreuzwiesenalm - Rosenalm
Walking time estimation: 5-6 hrs.
You start your hike at the upper lift terminal of the Kreuzjochseilbahn and go first in the direction of the Kreujoch till the new Kreuzjoch Hut / Kreuzjochhuette. From there on you walk on the goods road that brings you directly to the peak of the Karspitz. You descend on the same way however only 100 m. Then you turn to the right and walk along the lake Rosssee to the Kar Hut / Karhütte, where you continue again on the goods road. You follow the road until the sharp turn. Then you have to cross a streamlet and go on the goods road to the Kreuzwiesenalm Hut / Kreuzwiesenalmhuette. Continue on the goods road that runs above the hut until you come to a leftward narrow road branch to the Rosenalm.

 

Hikes round Gerlos

Gmuend-Wimmertal-Wimmertalscharte (2.536 m)
Walking time estimation: 5 hrs. From the guesthouse Kroeller a route takes its course through the valley Wimmertal with its bizarre rocky peaks. It runs past Gmuend to the brook Gerlosbach and continues on the forest street along the eastern brook side of the Wimmerbach in the direction of the valley. At the Eggehtenalm (1.366 m), one should cross a brook and continue walking on its western side. You walk past the Wimmertalalm and reach the Gruendllochalm (1.403 m) within 1 ½ hrs. The trail gets steeper and runs to the last huts at 1.685 m. From there on the trail runs eastwards to the left. It is steep at the beginning, later it becomes a serpentine character and so stretches to the Wimmerscharte. It takes 3 – 3 ½ hrs (rather enduring trail), starting at the Gruendllochalm. You descend on the same trail.

Isskogel - Wild Krimml - Krummbachtal
Walking time estimation: 4 hrs.
You get by a chairlift to the Isskogel. Then you start past the Ebenfeld on the marked trail to the summit of the Isskogel at 2.264 m. It takes you to ascend approx. 1 – 1 ½ hrs. Follow the trail no. 1 and descend to the east in the direction of the Wild Krimml. At the Krimmlalm the trail gets steeper and runs downwards to that trail marking 2. Follow it through the wild and romantic valley of the Wild Devil / Wilde Teufeltal to the Arzlahner Alm. Here turn to the right and walk through the wood to the snack house Krummbachrast. From here on follow the trail to Gerlos.

 

Hikes round Hippach

Keilkeller Waterfall in Schwendau
Estimated walking time: 1 hr.
You start your hike in the centre of the village Hippach and go in the direction of Schwedenau to the guesthouse “Drei Linden”. Here you turn to the right and walk to the village of Schwedenau, following to the village of Muehlen. On the bridge, you cross the Sidanbach and reach a forest trail, which runs to the Keilkeller Waterfall.

Schiestl's Sunnalm
Estimated walking time: 4 hrs. Hike of medium difficulty grade.
You walk on the Schwendberger Strasse and turn to the right. From here on you walk on the Hoarbergweg approx. 1.5 hrs past the valley Hoarbergtal to the Schiestl's Sunnalm.

 

Hikes round Mayrhofen

Sonnalm - Steinerkoglhaus - Mayrhofen
Estimated walking time: 3.5 hrs. Hike of medium difficulty grade.
We recommend getting by the Ramsberg chairlift to the Sonnalm. From there on you walk to the Kotahornalm, past the Karlalm in the direction of Laberg. At Laberg you branch off in the direction of the Kolmhaus. From there on you follow the forest trail to the Steinerkoglhaus and walk in the direction of Brandberg. You can get back by post bus to Mayrhofen or Hippach.

Ginzling-Innerboeden, 1.301 m
Estimated walking time: 1 ½ hrs.
It is a very picturesque and easy hike. You start in Ginzling and walk first to Zemmbach Bridge. From here on you walk rightwards to the southwest. At the road junction you walk in the direction of Innerboeden. Take a rest and continue past Almboeden back to the road junction. Take a right turn, get to Rauth and walk along the brook Zemmbach to Ginzling.

 

Hikes round Finkenberg

Schumann’s Trail / Schumannweg to Ginzling
Estimated walking time: 1 ½ hrs.
At the bridge Teufelsbruecke you walk straight ahead to the guesthouse Dornauhof. Here starts a hiking trail to the guesthouse Karlsteg. You walk on a beautiful forest trail to the Steinbruecke till the avalanche gallery. Here you turn to the left and walk to the guesthouse Karlsteg that situates on the other side of the valley. Walking along the country road, you reach the village of Ginzling.

Leonhard Stock’s Path
Estimated walking time: 2 hrs.
You start in the village of Finkenberg, behind the church and walk on the asphalted road to the road branch. You continue straight ahead, past the houses to a dip. Keep to the trail no. 26 that runs uphill to the connection with the trail no. 2 Mariensteig. From there on you ascend on serpentine trail up to the Weiler Astegg. Alternatively, you can also descend to Mayrhofen.

 

Hikes round Tux

Tuxer Joch - Weitental - Hintertux
Round hike. Estimated walking time: 3 hrs. From the upper lift terminal you follow the AV trail no. 324 to the Tuxer Joch House. You descend on the AV trail no. 324 through the valley of Weitental that presents its beautiful flora. You continue on the protected trail no. 17 past the waterfall of Schleier to Hintertux.

Waterfall Trail Hintertux
Estimated walking time: 2 hrs.
A trail fascinates you by its gorges, caverns and rock bridges. It brings you also to the Schrauben Waterfall. You start your hike at the lower lift station of the 4-seat gondola cable car. On your left, you see the first waterfall of Kesselfall. You walk upwards to the Schrauben Waterfall. You continue on the goods path through the forest. Here you walk to the right, pass the so-called Walfischmaul / Whales’ Jaws (stone cleft). After that you branch off to the Spannagel House. You follow this trail till the road mark rightwards to the Sommerberg. You follow the path till the gorge Tuxbachklamm. On the narrow bridge, you hike downhill to the beautiful valley basin at the Waldeben. You get back on the trail no. 16 to the lower lift station of the Gletscherbahn cable car.
