The start of winter in the Zillertal
The 2025/26 ski season is beginning, and with it comes the whole variety of the Zillertal. Perfectly groomed slopes, sunny descents and genuine winter moments are waiting to be discovered – from the heights of the Hintertux Glacier to the newly opened ski areas in the valley.
Early start in the Hochzillertal Kaltenbach and Hochfügen ski regions
Both regions will start the season with weekend operations on 29 and 30 November.

Snow guarantee in the Zillertal
Thanks to its altitude of up to 3,250 metres above sea level and the associated optimal slope and snow conditions, skiing in the Zillertal is possible well into April. More than 80% of the Zillertal slopes are located above 1,700 metres above sea level, which is why the region is one of the most snow-sure ski areas in Austria. The four large ski areas in the Zillertal, Hochzillertal-Hochfügen-Spieljoch, the Zillertal Arena, the Mayrhofner Bergbahnen adventure world - Mountopolis and the Ski & Glacier World Zillertal 3000 with the Hintertux Glacier, offer winter sports fun well into spring. Together, the ski resorts offer 548 kilometres of perfectly groomed slopes and 180 state-of-the-art lifts – all of which can be used with a single ski ticket, the Zillertal Super Ski Pass.
