Das Zillertal ist eine Top-Destination im Herzen der Alpen und gehört zu Österreichs führenden Urlaubszielen. Umgeben von zahlreichen Dreitausendern erstreckt sich das breite und sonnige Tiroler Tal auf über 47 km und steigt dabei nur leicht an. Den höchsten Punkt im Zillertal bildet mit 3.509 Höhenmetern der Hochfeiler. Insgesamt hat das Zillertal über 35.000 Einwohner in 25 Gemeinden. Seinen Namen hat das Tal vom 56 km langen Fluss Ziller, dessen Quelle sich auf 2.270 Meter Höhe in der Gemeinde Brandberg befindet. Er fließt von Süden nach Norden und mündet bei Strass auf 517 Meter Seehöhe in den Inn.
