From the Netherlands, there are numerous connections with the Deutsche Bahn that lead to Munich and from there on towards the Zillertal. Direct connections from Amsterdam to Innsbruck are also available. From Germany there are a variety of direct connections, especially the ICE direct connections from Hamburg, Berlin, Erfurt and Frankfurt are highly recommended. Railjets from Switzerland also run several times a day from Zurich via the Arlberg to Innsbruck.

ATTENTION Renovation of the Brettfall tunnel in Zillertal:
Take the A12 Inntal motorway (motorway vignette!) to the Zillertal exit between Innsbruck and Kufstein. Continue on the B169 to your holiday destination.
If you are coming from the east or the north: From Munich/Salzburg/Vienna, take the A1, A8 and A93 to Kiefersfelden. Continue on the A12 – NB: compulsory toll sticker (“vignette”) – to the Zillertal exit. Then take the B169 right into Zillertal.
If you are coming from the west: From Vorarlberg/Innsbruck, take the A12 to the Zillertal exit. Then take the B169 right into Zillertal.
If you are coming from the south: From Klagenfurt, take the A10 to Salzburg. From Graz, take the A9 to Liezen. Then continue on the A10 to Salzburg or take the Bischofshofen exit (see above).
The digital motorway vignette is conveniently available online and from 2024 will be available for as little as 1 day.
