Start at an altitude of 1,300 m in Tux-Lanersbach. The route first follows the forest road, but soon crosses an old bridle path which you must follow until the view clears and the Junsberg, Madseitberg and Grübelspitze peaks become visible on the other side of the valley. After reaching the Höllensteinhütte, go on towards Grieralm and then take the forest road back to Juns, or on to Tux-Lanersbach.
First destination: Wedelhütte. Here you can park your bike and start the ascent to the summit of the Wimbachkopf on foot.
From Alpengasthof Finkau, you cross the beautiful Wildgerlostal valley by bike to the large waterfall at the end of the valley. From there, the steep ascent to the Zittauer Hütte begins.
From Mayrhofen, take the bike in the direction of Stilluptal to the valley station of the Kasseler Hütte material cable car. From there you walk to the Kasseler Hütte.
Ride your bike up to the Junsbergalm/Stoankasern. After the snack station, park your bike in the bike parking area to climb the Junssee. The bike parking area below the Junsjoch requires more metres in altitude.
When mountain biking in the Zillertal valley you do not have to just rely on your muscle power. Seven cable cars also transport bikes up to lofty heights and take you effortlessly to the most beautiful starting points for magnificent panorama tours. With most bottom stations there are not even any stairs so bikers can ride over convenient access ramps.
