Anyone who takes on the challenge of the Zillertaler Höhenstraße high road on a racing bike at the entrance of Zillertal realizes: The breathtaking panorama makes each push of the pedals worthwhile.
Start at an altitude of 1,300 m in Tux-Lanersbach. The route first follows the forest road, but soon crosses an old bridle path which you must follow until the view clears and the Junsberg, Madseitberg and Grübelspitze peaks become visible on the other side of the valley. After reaching the Höllensteinhütte, go on towards Grieralm and then take the forest road back to Juns, or on to Tux-Lanersbach.
