Snow-white happiness with Grandma and Grandpa
The Zillertal area provides perfect conditions for grandparents wishing to spend some quality time with their families: child-friendly hotels and facilities that are appropriate for a range of skiing abilities. The area has ski schools and wide slopes where children are taught the basics of the sport using highly effective teaching methods. Zillertal knows how to take good care of families with children, offering all the elements for a guaranteed stress-free and relaxing holiday.
8.00 a.m.: The day begins with a healthy breakfast
A healthy, nutritious and balanced breakfast is the perfect foundation for a busy winter’s day. The best locally made products are served, such as fresh hay-milk and plain yoghurt – with Omega-3 fatty acids, these are great for the immune system and help with cell metabolism. Local cheese and meat producers value natural ingredients very highly. There’s bread made from coarsely ground wholewheat flour, pesticide-free vegetables and organically grown fruits for energy. And everyone, from toddlers to grandparents, enjoys our tasty food.
10.00 a.m.: Ski school fun starts for the little ones
Twenty-five ski schools with 500 well-trained instructors are ready and waiting for big and small ski heroes. Most of the instructors can speak several languages, which makes communication with the little skiers very easy. There are also seven public kindergartens for guests, and 23 special ski kindergartens, which offer expert supervision. This gives the grandparents peace of mind, so they can head out and enjoy a glorious day in the mountains.
Whether trying their first ski turns on the nursery slopes, riding down the well-prepared runs with confidence or attempting a rapid descent through the slalom course, the instructors always pay close attention to every child. The ski classes are constructed according to each child‘s ability. Zillertal is truly a cradle for future Olympic ski champions.
2.00 p.m.: Ski tots enjoy the fantastic play area
A children’s playroom with a view. Zillertal’s formula for happiness is simple: sunny winter landscapes, fantastic local facilities and warm hospitality. In short, just the sort of attributes to guarantee relaxation and wellbeing for everyone who visits.
4.00 p.m.: Children and grandparents discover the spa area
What could be better than splashing around in warm water after a day on the slopes? It relaxes, warms and eases the muscles, leaving you feeling refreshed. A wave pool, bubble jets, water jets and a water slide keep the children entertained. Meanwhile, the grandparents can soak in the saltwater pool, the steam bath or the pine sauna.
Swimming and relaxing are important ingredients of an enjoyable skiing holiday. You’ll find plenty of public and private spas where you can unwind, soothe your aching muscles and leave feeling regenerated. These treatments can strengthen mind, body and soul. With vitality restored, you‘re ready to hit the slopes once more.
6.00 p.m.: After the communal evening meal, grandparents enjoy a little peace and quiet over a glass of wine
The interior of the Kinderhotel, which is specifically designed with children in mind, comes with chalkboard walls and colouring books, so every meal is transformed into something special. There’s so much for the children to do, no one has a chance to get bored – and it means the grandparents can sit back and enjoy a glass of wine with dinner.
Once the children are in bed, the grandparents have time to mull over their holiday. They chat about the precious hours they are able to spend with the little ones, while enjoying some well-deserved time on their own.
