Ice climbing

Zillertal is a paradise for rock climbing and bouldering. When the temperatures are so far below zero that even the boulderers keep their hands in their pockets, it’s time for the ice fans. In the side valleys of Zillertal, they will find whatever their hearts desire. In the Zillergrund or Zemmgrund valleys, dozens of ice falls in all degrees of difficulty await contenders.

Must haves for ice climbing

Ice climbing equipment consisting of climbing harness, helmet, ice ax and crampons

  Warm clothes, warm gloves

Tea for warming up in between

Crampon-compatible shoes or ski touring shoes

Important: ice climbing only in the company of a mountain guide!
