Fun in the snow is guaranteed here 365 days a year – with powder snow even guaranteed from October to May! In the winter months, Austria’s only year-round ski area is part of Zillertal’s largest ski area – the Zillertal 3000 Ski and Glacier World. 202 kilometres of fresh powder-snow pistes of all levels of difficulty, untouched deep-snow slopes and demanding mogul runs quicken the heart of any winter sports fan. Seamlessly transition from the demanding and varied Eggalm holiday paradise to the sunny Rastkogel plateau and continue down the breathtaking panoramic descent or on the 150-seater Tux cable car to the ‘entertainment quarter’ of Penken with the Penken Park & Harakiri run. Alternatively, opt for the route via the artificial-snow-covered valley runs to Hintertux, Vorderlanersbach or Lanersbach. A truly stunning descent runs from the Gefrorene Wand at 3,250 metres to Hintertux at 1,500 metres. With a length of 12 kilometres and an altitude difference of 1,750 metres, this run is certain to leave your calves tingling.

A deeper insight into the eternal ice at Nature’s Ice Palace

Nature’s Ice Palace is a unique worldwide natural gem. Visitors can explore a “walk-in” glacial crevasse with ice stalactites, giant sparkling ice crystals, frozen waterfalls and even a glacial lake. Guided tours are offered daily and the spectacle is open year-round.Nature’s Ice Palace at the Hintertux Glacier is a natural gem, unique worldwide and an ideal year round excursion destination for the whole family. The entrance to this ice cave is only a 3 to 4 minute walk from the top station of the glacierbus 3 lift. On guided tours, visitors are asked to „Step inside” to this wonderful world deep beneath the ski slopes and discover a glacial crevasse with magical ice stalactites, giant sparkling ice crystals, frozen waterfalls and even a glacial lake.

Pepi’s Kinderland at Penkenjoch

Not only the 1st section of the Finkenberger Almbahnen Lift is being rebuilt, Pepis Kinderland is also been given a facelift in summer 2017. During last winter season, Pepis Kinderland at Penkenjoch was the place where the young ones dared to take their first few steps on skis. And now the area around the reservoir at Penkenjoch is gaining yet another summer attraction. Not far from the idyllic reservoir, a new Summer Kinderland has been built in addition to its winter counterpart.

Betterpark Hintertux

Betterpark Hintertux is one of the highest freestyle-spots in Austria and is considered by many to be the best Snowpark in the Alps. The entrance to the park is at 3,200 metres above sea level at the foot of the majestic Olperer Mountain and is a favourite meeting point for local riders as well as the international scene. Betterpark Hintertux is open from April to End of May and from mid September to December. In autumn it is the first snowpark to open in Austria and hosts the first snowpark opening in Europe: The Park Opening takes place annually on the first weekend in October and is a must for international stars and freestyle-fans from far and wide. A perfect start to the season with free board tests, awesome partys & events and snow-reliable boarding and freestlying on the Hintertux Glacier!

Funslope Hintertuxer Gletscher

The new Funslope Hintertux is going to make adventures happen at Sommerbergalm at 2100 metres. A huge eight-shaped element made of snow and many more exciting fun-features are guaranteeing a special thrill for the whole family. However, one single run through the Funslope will in most cases not be enough to explore all the possibilities and satisfy your need for adrenaline. Luckily, the Tuxerjoch chairlift is bringing you quick and comfortable back to the starting gate. Enjoy the lift ride by looking at other guests snowy adventures or planning your next route.

Glacier flea safari

An exciting adventure course with tricky riddle questions awaits guests at the Sommerberg hiking area. Together with Luis the Glacier Flea, budding detectives will experience an exciting hike with a riddle treasure! Little glacier detectives can explore interactive stations and learn more about the mystery of glaciers in a playful manner.
