Snowreporter Jolanda
Hello,
Today I am reporting from the Ski- & Gletscherwelt Zillertal 3000, and I'll say it right away: Spring is anything but the end of the season here – it's high season!
The Hintertux Glacier is not only the centrepiece of this ski resort, but also the ski resort in Austria with the most snow-sure slopes. Here, you can enjoy superlative skiing in spring: plenty of snow from the winter and the high altitude of the glacier ski resort ensure ideal slope conditions. This is not only the highlight of this ski resort, but also the guarantee of perfect snow conditions well into spring.

When it already smells like spring in the valley and the first meadows are turning green again, one of my absolute favourite times of year begins in the Tux-Finkenberg holiday region.
What makes spring in the Ski- & Glacier World Zillertal 3000 so special is not only the Hintertux Glacier, but also the Glacier Spring. A series of events that combines spring skiing with music, culinary delights and a whole range of interesting activities. I have browsed through the programme for you and picked out my highlights:
28 March 2025 – BBQ brunch at the Spannagelhaus with Adi Bittermann
Culinary delights meet mountain air: barbecue world champion Adi Bittermann will spoil you with the finest BBQ in the middle of the snow – plus sun, panoramic views and lots of moments of pure pleasure.
11 April 2025 – Hintertux Glacier Open Air
Live music at 2,100 metres above sea level! The summer mountain becomes a stage
From the end of March, the best of the glacier spring activities start:
The crowning finale on 26 April 2025 – Christina Stürmer MTV unplugged:
For the season finale, none other than Christina Stürmer will be performing. An exclusive unplugged concert in the middle of the glacier world – goosebumps guaranteed! A highlight you definitely shouldn't miss.
You can find more information about the individual events here.
To be honest, I was surprised myself the first time how special skiing can be in spring. That moment when you take the first gondola up early, the air is still clear and fresh, and you make your first turn in perfectly groomed firn snow – priceless.
What do I love most? The contrast. Being active in the morning – whether it's on a glacier safari, early-bird skiing or one of the other great activities – and then at lunchtime or in the evening, going to one of the great events. It's exactly this mix that does it for me.
So, anyone who has never been to Zillertal in spring should know that they are missing out! Pack your sunglasses, put on plenty of sun cream and enjoy this special time of year when winter is slowly giving way to summer, but we are still in the middle of the skiing season.
Maybe I'll see you on the panorama terrace or on the glacier tour – I'm definitely still out and about a bit ;-)
So, see you next time!
Your Jolanda
