Mountain running legend:
Markus Kröll tells his story

Markus Kröll, affectionately known as "Krölli", grew up in the mountaineering village of Ginzling in the Zillertal. His passion for mountain running led to numerous victories, including junior world championship titles, silver medals at European and world championships and successes at the "Red Bull Dolomitenmann". Markus was Austrian champion 17 times and reached the top 5 in the overall World Cup five times. He was the first athlete to run the 80 km Berlin High Mountain Trail in under 24 hours, documented in "The journey is the reward". Today Markus promotes the "Mayrhofen Ultraks Zillertal" and coaches young athletes.
