Ingredients for the dough:

125 g butter room temperature
100 g icing sugar
250 g plain flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp freshly grated organic
orange (optional)
1 egg room temperature
 
almond kernels
Chocolate icing

Preparation:


Mix the soft butter with the icing sugar until fluffy, add the flour, baking powder, egg and orange, 
baking powder, egg and orange and knead with the dough hook of a hand
mixer or food processor and knead into a dough.

Place the dough in cling film in the fridge to rest for at least half an hour.

Preheat the oven to 175 °C top/bottom heat (155 °C hot air).

Line baking trays with baking paper.

Roll out the dough to a thickness of approx. 3 mm on a floured work surface, 
cut out with a star-shaped cookie cutter, place an almond in the centre of each
and place an "arm" on top. 

Place the stars on the baking trays and bake in the preheated oven 
one after the other for eight to ten minutes.

Once cooled, pipe a face on top with chocolate icing and store in an airtight 
and store in an airtight tin.
